Job Title: Senior Software QA Engineer (Mac)

General Summary
This position is responsible for:
- Working as part of our testing team, searching for, investigating, reporting, and tracking defects. Your duties will include black box testing following existing test plans and test plans that you write, designing new test cases, operating automated test suites, and analyzing defect reports. Depending on your skills, you might also be involved in more technical aspects of software quality. Essential Responsibilities
- Testing Sling Media software on all Mac hardware and Mac operating systems.
- Develop automatic test scripts using commercial test tools.
- Execute tests and prepares reports on test progress and regression.
- Participate in design and development of test approaches.
- Design and implement and execute test cases and scenarios based on product functional specifications.
- Track & analyze test results and work closely with the developers to isolate and reproduce defects.
- Participate in code reviews.
- Interact closely with members of the cross-functional team for project success.
- Work with other Sling Media QA team members to source domain expertise and apply to architecture testing
- Communicate status & issues in a timely fashion and manage escalations appropriately.
Job Specifications/Requirements
- Working knowledge of Mac OS X.
- 8+ years experience with testing of Mac applications.
- Must have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies (white and black box).
- Experience creating test plans/cases from functional specifications.
- Experience with automated testing tools at both the API and UI level.
- Experience in the shrink-wrap software industry is highly desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills along with presentation skills.
- Solid Project Management experience.
- Experience gathering and analyzing software quality metrics throughout the software development life cycle.
- Experience with automated testing tools.
- Ability to interact with development and project manager, QA Director, and functional managers.
- Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines and changing priorities.
- Experience testing iPhone/iPod applications would be ideal, but not required.
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
